Shanghu Cloud × Yunlin Local Deep Cultivation Education and Culture Association Jointly Host Interdisciplinary Gender Awareness Workshop
On Friday, September 19, 2025, the Yunlin Local Deep Cultivation Education and Culture Association and the Shanghu Cloud team jointly held an interdisciplinary gender awareness workshop at the SDGs Co-Training Base of the Office of Sustainable Development and University Social Responsibility at National Formosa University. Nearly 30 faculty, staff, and students participated, achieving remarkable results. Lecturer Liao Yu-Xian guided students from the perspective of SDG 5, Gender Equality, while also promoting knowledge on preventing sexual harassment in the workplace. Professional information on the "Three Gender Laws," support resources, gender awareness, and reporting procedures was delivered in an easy-to-understand teaching format at NFU!
This event was initiated by Liu Jin-An, Chairman of the Yunlin Local Deep Cultivation Education and Culture Association (hereafter: Chairman Liu). After obtaining support from the Ministry of Labor, he considered how to bring sexual harassment prevention into more diverse settings and invited Professor Lin Zheng-Min, whom he had known since his five-year junior college studies, to assist in organizing this workshop. Professor Lin, currently the Executive Director of the Office of Sustainable Development and University Social Responsibility at National Formosa University (hereafter: Director Lin), is dedicated to implementing SDG indicators and USR initiatives, bringing resources into local communities to achieve mutual benefits for students, the university, and the region.
Director Lin stated: "Long-term engagement in USR and AI technology implementation is a strength and achievement of NFU, but SDG 5, Gender Equality, is a relatively weak area for the university. Through this event, students gain interdisciplinary knowledge while participating in an important SDG sustainable development activity." Chairman Liu added: "Since my junior college days, I realized that gender awareness covers many aspects. Professional knowledge on sexual harassment—including judgment standards, legal avenues, and support resources—is something many students lack!" A female participant remarked: "A classmate around me once experienced sexual harassment, but I didn’t know how to help her. That moment made me realize how limited my own professional knowledge was."
As a leader in the USR field in Yunlin, Shanghu Cloud, with the support of the Office of Sustainable Development and University Social Responsibility at National Formosa University, has already expanded its production and marketing platform into rural areas, integrating technology education and digital transformation services deeply with local communities. Through the platform, it helps communities and local farmers list products online, creating a low-cost and smart production-marketing ecosystem. The team has also implemented the "Three-Life Integrated Co-Benefit USR Project" in Shuijing Village with notable success. Since its establishment in 2023, the Yunlin Local Deep Cultivation Education and Culture Association has promoted numerous local initiatives and educational activities, including the Yunlin Rainbow Parade, Zhaoan Hakka cultural education, farm-to-table art lessons, promotion of Taiwanese language culture, physical and mental wellness experiences, and support services for political victims. Both organizations have been working hard in Yunlin, and now through interdisciplinary advocacy, they have created a unique synergy.
